WiMAX or Wi-Fi: The next generation technology for wireless networking Infrastructure

Garima Malik

Abstract

This paper presents a comparison of the existing wireless  technology Wi-Fi and WiMAX, try to compare  Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) and WiMAX (IEEE 802.16), with respect to technology which provides a better solution to build a wireless access infrastructure. On based of different parameters the technology is measured. Conclusion of the paper is to state which technology is best suited and cost effective solution to end users.
